Quo Vadis & Friends: Ravinder Bhogal

22nd May

Quo Vadis & Friends: Ravinder Bhogal
Wednesday 22nd May, from 7pm

Excitement mounts as we look ahead to our special guest for May, the wonderful Ravinder Bhogal. Born in Kenya, to Indian parents, Ravinder has found inspiration in her mixed heritage and the UK’s diverse immigrant culture, creating a unique culinary style filled with innovative and often daring combinations.

Though her career began in writing, Ravinder found herself drawn to food by its inimitable power to bring people together, to break down boundaries between folks and to instil delight. She now finds herself as a prominent and beloved presence in the industry, with monthly food columns in FT Weekend and Guardian Feast, regular presenting gigs with the likes of Channel 4 and BBC, three bestselling cookbooks and a much-loved restaurant in Marylebone, Jikoni. Proudly titled ‘a no-borders kitchen’, the menu at Jikoni is as intriguing as it is delightful, tempting diners with the likes of prawn toast scotch eggs, aubergines doused with Sichuan caramel and paneer gnudi served with winter greens saag.

For her dinner at QV, Ravinder will serve a bountiful array of dishes from her latest cookbook, Comfort & Joy. The sweet-toothed among you should eagerly await the finale of the evening, a mighty milk cake soaked overnight in a rich falooda milk shake and topped with an abundance of strawberries, basil seeds, creams and pistachios.

Tickets are £65, including a bite, three courses served feasting-style and a welcome drink. QV members have exclusive priority booking for 72 hours. Purchase here.

Huge thanks, as ever, to our brilliant sponsors Gin MareEverleaf and Journey’s End.
