QV & Friends: The Hendersons
13th February
Fergus and Margot. Two groundbreaking chefs of such renown that like Cher or Beyoncé, they no longer require surnames.
Fergus, the co-founder of St. John, which has spawned so many of the best chefs and restaurants of the next generation (Lee Tiernan above being one). The establishments were a favourite of the late, great Anthony Bourdain and remain temples to nose to tail and root to leaf dining – sites of culinary pilgrimages and impromptu Fergronis to this day.
Margot, the co-founder of Rochelle Canteen, the restaurant housed in the bike shed of a former schoolyard and beneath its adjoining vines, which despite its eccentric location on Arnold Circus, has for over 20 years drawn the glitterati of the arts, fashion, media and cultural worlds with its deceptively simple, seasonal, daily changing menu of the most conscientious provenance.
Hector, the blessed progeny, has proved a chip off the old potato, not only as Head Chef at Rochelle Canteen, but also through pop-ups at the likes of Llama Inn, Italo, Otto in Berlin and yes, Quo Vadis.
It’s been eight years since Fergus and Margot cooked their unforgettable ‘La Grande Bouffe’ Supper at Quo Vadis and we can’t wait to see the menu that the Henderson family pulls together this time.
Tickets are £95, including a welcome drink.
