Quo Vadis & Friends: A Farewell to Xu

10th November

Oh how we adored XU! The conjuring of a luxury 1930’s Taiwanese dining room on Rupert Street, eliciting imaginings of Mahjong and high society tea meetings. The thought of never again ordering Erchen Chang’s chilli egg-drop crab, the taro dumplings, the Ma Lai cake…the exquisite cocktails…is unbearable. We weep.

Yet, the BAO team are throwing one last hurrah for the dearly departed XU and we are overjoyed to say that they are doing it here.

A note. This will not be a standard sit down, family style dining format. Erchen, Wai Ting and Shing are ripping up the rule book and promising instead a standing party with a succession of XU inspired small bites, along with a pudding for the occasion from Jeremy. It will be a surreal, stylish and sublime send-off.

Tickets at £45, including a welcome drink, are now on general sale. Book here.

With thanks to our wine partners, the splendid Journey’s End.
